Alpaca fiber is amazing stuff! It can be made into yarn, roving, bats, felt, used by birds for nesting, and mulch. It takes less fiber by weight to be as warm as wool, it is fire resistant and is being used for insulation, upholstery fabric, rugs, sweaters, fine designer clothing, and just about anything else you can think of!
Here at Mayhem Farm, I use it (along with lots of other type fibers) to weave into scarves, shawls and rugs.
